With solid leads and a wide range of colours created from highly concentrated pigments, they have been made for professional level work. The velvet finish of these pencils has come from two years of technical research which also developed the richness of the shades and allows for overlaying, mixing and gradation.

Caran d'Ache Luminance coloured pencils are the most lightfast of all coloured pencils meeting the highest of international standards: ASTM D-6901.

This is generally the best white coloured pencil I have used and I have tried a lot. has a lot more pigment to it then a lot of other brands and I love working with it on my pet portraits. Highly Recommend buying not just 1 but lots of this pencil you will not regret it! (Posted on 05/03/2020)

The strongest White pencil I've used. The Luminance range never ceases to amaze me. The White is very opaque and is so adept to blending that on occasion I use it for blending rather than using a conventional blender or tortillion. Luminance was just one of those purchases that I thought would be too good to be true given the price. However coming from Polychromos and Prismacolor, the Luminance really has no competitor and is a stunning, first class pencil. I can't envisage using anything else now!! (Posted on 20/08/2015)
